Hey guys! Happy mother’s day!
I know I’ve been quiet on this platform for so long but I felt like I had nothing to blog about- I’m back though!Today, I finally visited Big Elephant Cafe. Lemme tell you, I had high expectations! Seeing all the Instagram photos floating around my feed made me expect a lot, aesthetically as well as in terms of the food.
My experience was great but I have to say, but I was shaken by the cement gaps in the floor. Otherwise, I was pleased by the rustic style decor, the delectable food and excellent customer service. Big Elephant offers a unique experience for family dining-especially because you can play games such as Jenga and scrabble as you wait for your food- and allows diners to enjoy a chilled afternoon in their breezy, outdoor seating area. I would definitely recommend visiting Big Elephant cafe for a delicious meal in a casual, cosy setting. Here’s my experience in photos:
For our meals we had:
A t-bone steak, a fillet mignon, a chicken burger as well as a chicken tikka curry.
The fillet mignon I felt was too small and when we let the waitress know, we received another complimentary fillet mignon which I have to say displayed great customer service. For that I applaud Big Elephant. Here’s us enjoying our food:
For drinks we had watermelon basil smoothies (dairy-free) which were amazing as well as a raspberry ice tea which I have to say is the best ice tea I’ve ever had- the tea wasn’t flat which is great because not many restaurants can make the tea strong without it being bitter and the raspberry flavour was tangible. I would definitely recommend these two drinks.
Watermelon and basil smoothie
For dessert, we had the caramel almond cake, chocolate fondant and chocolate chip cake (I’m not sure if that was it’s name). The caramel almond cake was airy, light and soft. The chocolate fondant is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth but the chocolate chip cakes were quite dry which was disappointing.
The cafe is very aesthetically pleasing so I was able to get some photos I’m very proud of.

As I mentioned previously, the restaurant has games you can play as you wait. We played Jenga and I dropped the tower…I was crushed.Anyway, here’s us having some fun.
